You may recognize the fish on the left. Her name was Ethel. She was caught on a jig, November 26, 1986.
Ethel was the state record, at 17 lbs 10.67 oz, in Texas for over 6 years and was the first fish entered in the Lone Star Lunker Program. She spent the rest of her life in the 125,000 gallon aquarium within Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. A cartoon character of Ethel is one of the spokesfish for the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center at Athens, TX. Ethel, age 19, passed away August 5, 1994 in the aquarium at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World due to natural causes. Until that time, she was the largest largemouth in captivity. I had the honor of being inducted to the Texas Fishing Hall of Fame in June of 2015.
I have been professionally guiding full time since 1980, starting on Lake Lavon and moving to Lake Fork in 1982. I have fished various tournaments since 1972, ranging from local jackpot tournaments to B.A.S.S. National Tournaments and B.A.S.S. Top 100 Tournaments. In 1978 I was the I.B.A. Angler of the Year. I am happy to guide you day or night. Night trips, however, are only available June to September. We want you to catch fish. We would like to teach you the old ways and the new ways to fool that bass of a lifetime. Come go fishing with me. I would love to introduce you to YOUR Ethel!
Group trips welcome!
